Industrial motors can be started in a variety of ways. Local operation of the motor is accomplished via the local start and stop push buttons in the local control panel in field or electrical substation. Once the operator has given clearance from the Operator station HMI, the motor can be operated locally by pressing momentarily the local push button and can be stopped by pressing the local stop push button.
Apart from local operation, the motor can be operated from the remote operator station as well by pressing the buttons on the operator HMI, once the remote mode has been selected by operator.
In the first video out of three videos, i will be making the plc program / logic for the local operation of the induction motor. In the 2nd video, i will perform plc programming for the remote operation of the induction motor and in the 3rd video, i will make the whole HMI for both local and remote operation and monitoring of the industrial motor.
