This video illustrates the proper sequence to assemble a Barient #24 self tailing winch. To save time, the process or applying grease, pawls and pawl springs have been omitted. Grease should be applied to all metal to metal contact surfaces, bearings and shafts. One drop of light machine oil should be applied to each of the pawls once they are seated in the pawl pockets.
