Testing the vertical anamorphic adapter setup in Magic Lantern RAW at:
5.2K vertical
3K vertical
Both modes show that vertically de-squeezed images deliver a very unique anamorphic look → a dead-sharp oval center with soft, blurred edges that feel more “cinematic” than cropped alternatives.
For comparison, I also tested cropped modes:
4.4K (1x3, 2:1) → 1.25x de-squeeze → 5.5K RAW, sharper 2.5:1 image
1440p (1x1, 2:1) → 1.25x de-squeeze → 3.2K RAW, sharper 2.5:1 image
These cropped setups in 14-bit lossless are very usable, but lack the artistic character of the vertical anamorphic image.

No noise reduction in post
Dead pixels present (still need to cure them for these modes)
