Witnessing this act, the Primelight—a cosmic entity older than the Emotional Spectrum itself and guardian of the White Light—intervenes. Naming Izuku its first and only Flamekeeper, it grants him pseudo-Guardian status and entrusts him with the formation of a new Lantern Corps: the Ember Lanterns. Unlike the Corps bound to singular emotions, Ember Lanterns are chosen through emotional truth, and each ring ignites in a color unique to its bearer’s inner journey.
