This animation has been developed by the Australian Sports Commission to support sport officials to foster safe, inclusive and enjoyable sporting environments.
Building on the concepts introduced in Conflict Animation 1: Sources of Conflict in Sport, this video introduces the Experience Cube—a tool developed by Canadian psychologist Jervis Bush—to help officials understand how different perspectives shape conflict. It then outlines practical approaches for managing conflict across common sport scenarios.
Sport officials will learn ways to:
· Use the Experience Cube to clarify differing perspectives
· Respond to physical aggression between players
· Handle disputes over scoring decisions
· Address inappropriate spectator behaviour
· Know when and how to seek support if conflict escalates
This video can be viewed independently or as part of the two-part conflict series.
