How do Antibiotics Work?
Antibiotics are basically medications which are used to fight infections caused by bacteria in our body. They are also called antibacterials.
Alexander Fleming discovered the first Antibiotic, Penicillin.
Antibiotics either kill the bacteria or slow down their growth by doing the following:
Attacking the wall or the coating surrounding the bacteria.
Interfering with the bacteria reproduction.
Blocking production of protein in bacteria.
Then what is Antibiotic Resistance?
Antibiotic Resistance occurs when bacteria develop the ability to defeat the Antibiotics designed to kill them or stop their growth.
