In Resident Evil Code: Veronica, Claire Redfield’s story continues as she searches for her missing brother, Chris Redfield. As they fight through the horrors of the island and later the Antarctic facility, Steve's story unfolds, revealing his deep resentment toward his father, who betrayed his family to Umbrella. This betrayal led to Steve and his mother being imprisoned and subjected to cruel experiments. In a heartbreaking turn of events, Steve becomes infected with the T-Veronica virus and transforms into a monstrous creature. Before dying, he regains his humanity long enough to confess his feelings for Claire, making his sacrifice all the more tragic. His death leaves a lasting impact on Claire, underscoring the emotional toll of her relentless fight against Umbrella and the human cost of the corporation’s atrocities.
