INSANE HOUR LONG BATTLE! 138 Lap P1 🏁🏆 @ NJMP Avenger - 5/25/2024 2hr Endurance Race

Video Quality: I used an ND16 filter, thinking I'd have enough daylight before my stint ended. Unfortunately some clouds came in and I ran out of daylight much earlier than expected. I tried to dramatically pull the levels up as best as I could in post-processing, which led to all this terrible noise. I'm surprised at how much data I was able to pull out because the source footage was fully black. Apologies.

Back to the race:
We managed to hold the lead for a P1 finish! I drove the first half, Randall drove the 2nd half. We had a good kart today and even better driving. This video features an amazing battle with 25 and 35, with kart 28 joining us toward the end (despite him being a lap down).

We worked together perfectly, forming a train when it came time to pass the slower cars and getting back to our battle once we passed them. You definitely noticed the effect of drafting here today. It made it harder to hold the lead.

This was my longest drive on a single battery, so I waited until green flag to start recording. You miss kart number 16 flying up behind me and trying to pass everyone on the pace lap, but it's OK because I pass him and 34 in the first turn.

The battle begins just 0:15 seconds into the race as 35 creeps up on my left, and continues the entire race!

At 3:05 some nice consistent driving pulls me up on the lead pack to battle for P1, featuring ‪@dakcity‬ in #6, Jet Co Engineering in 27, and the ‪@furey79‬ in 26.

I spend the next 6 minutes or so holding P1 until a subpar T1 entry gives 35 and 25 a nice opening at 10:00, and then it starts to get fun 😄. I take the lead back after 11:45, and give it up again 13:45.

By 14:45, #25 starts putting in some more pressure. We come up on some slower cars 16:30 and cut through them. In the shuffle, 25 takes the lead.

I start bump drafting #35 to catch us back up to 25 and he's good with it. #25 holds the lead until around 30:19. We come up on some slower cars and he's forced into a bad spot, #35 takes it back.

33:05 I have a better entry up top and see an opening on #25 and take it going half on grass to take back P2.

It's starting to get dark now and the video is going to sh*t.

I realize to take P1 back from 35 I'll need to try to force him to have a bad T1 entry, as he's not making any mistakes, and I do that perfectly after 35:33 with a little switchback, but then while trying to figure out how to pass #34, I make a bunch of room for 25 to slip right in and it's back to P2 for me for half a lap before getting P1 back. I have to ride over the grass a bit to hold it there and pass 16.

I hold P1 for another 5 minutes or so until 41:45 I mess up T1 and make room for 25, but take it back on the next lap, and then he takes it back again the following lap!

Entering T1 after 44:50, #11 slides towards the edge of the track and back right into the side of me, and #25 gets away a bit. Could have been worse but I still have my eyes on #25, I've come too far! At 47:00 I see an opening for the inside of T1, and it works! Back to P1 -- but then down to P3 2 minutes later and me and 25 agree to work together.

Video quality is horrible at this point.

52:40 - Kart 28 comes out of nowhere and pulls a video game dive bomb, using me to slow himself down and make the turn. I'm annoyed, but pretty quickly notice he has an amazing kart. He's a lap down, so instead of worrying about battling I feel it's a good opportunity to work with him against 25 and 35 deal. It works decently until 55:45 he makes a mistake and I cut around the right, but he has a nice divebomb coming into T1 and gets ahead.

56:57 We're about to work together into T1, but #28 slams #35 out of the way and makes a massive opening for me to take P1 back! A few seconds later he messes up the T2/3 again, and I pull ahead.

59:25 #28 has a nice divebomb again into T2. I get along side through T3 but like I said he's a lap down and this will only slow me down so I wave him ahead going up the hill and dig in close behind him. We come up on traffic and 25 almost gets back in, but gets stuck and I make it around to chase up to #28 again.

We pull into the pits with me in P1. Unfortunately for #28 he was there with a slower teammate or he would probably be in P1 right now.

Amazing battle between us 4 at the top here.
