David Oates (our head researcher) is back this week with a fresh new video for you.

This week’s topic revolves around adoptions and what we call ‘prescribed relationships’ when searches involve adoptions.

In this week’s video Dave explains what having a prescribed relationship to someone who has been adopted means and if you have a prescribed relationship, how you have the right to trace someone where adoptions are involved.

This could be looking for an adopted adult or if you are searching on behalf of someone who has been adopted too. You would need to do this through the use of an intermediary (such as ourselves and our Ofsted registered sister company Joanna North Associates).

He advises if you can do it, what can be done and how we can help.
