🔥 Ozark Overland Adventures: DAY 1 🌧 A Journey Through the Wild After Arkansas's Worst Storm

Welcome to Day 1 of our epic 5-day Ozark Overlanding Adventure Trail series! In this episode, we hit the trail from the southern border of Hector, Arkansas—just days after one of the biggest storms and tornadoes tore through the region. What we found was far more intense than we ever expected.

From insanely deep water crossings to steep, slick rock climbs and washed-out trails, Day 1 threw everything at us. Our rigs were pushed to the limit right out of the gate as the swollen creeks surged with fast-moving water, testing our courage and capability.

We’re running the Ozark Overland Adventure Trail backwards, and it didn’t take long before we realized—we were in for a wild ride. After conquering several unpredictable crossings, we faced a massive washout that forced our Jeeps into extreme articulation and technical driving, including one moment where my Jeep leaned hard into the side of a cliff wall.

We ended the day at the edge of the raging North Fork River, unable to cross—but what we found there was one of the most epic riverfront campsites we’ve ever experienced. This is what overlanding is all about—adventure, challenge, and unforgettable moments in the wild.
