As he enters the world of app-based dating, recently divorced surgeon Toby Fleishman finds more success than he ever did the last time he was single in the film Fleishman Is in Trouble. When his ex-wife Rachel vanishes, he is left alone with their children and no indication of her whereabouts or intentions. He understands he'll never be able to understand what happened to Rachel unless he can more honestly consider what happened to their marriage. He balances children, friends, a long-awaited promotion at the hospital, and all the eligible women Manhattan has to offer. The narrator and longtime friend of Toby is Libby.
