In the kingdom of Ruritania, Englishman Rudolf Rassendyll, a royal lookalike, is forced to impersonate the kidnapped king to stop a coup by the villainous Duke Michael. As he navigates palace intrigue, daring rescues, and sword fights, he falls for the beautiful Princess Flavia. But with enemies closing in, his double life grows more dangerous by the day.
