I Had Just 30 Days to Learn a Very Difficult Piano Piece… Then Perform It Live for an Audience

Hi everyone! In this video, I will show the final part of the Brahms Paganini 30 day challenge. 30 days ago, I started this series inspired by one idea: to try to grasp the most possible music in just 30 days and then to perform it in front of a live audience in a concert. And having chosen the first volume of Brahms Paganini Variations, Op. 35, this wasn't going to be exactly easy. This means not only time management, but also real-time problem solving and facing some of the hardest piano challenges in some of the most difficult repertoire available for pianists.

I would like to first and foremost thank everyone who supported me throughou this journey, everyone who commented, followed me and of course, everyone who watched the livestream and came to my concert in person. It has been an incredible experience to learn and manage to make something meaningful in such little time. Of course, as stated in the video and as is my strong belief, the performance is in no way shape or form "an end" of a practice but much more, truly the beginning - but it was a lot of fun to prepare this work in this short amount of time with all the other repertoire and projects ongoing on the side.

For those interested in total practice time: while this has a bit of error rate, after some counting my total practice time with this piece over 30 days was about 30 to 35 hours at the time of performing this piece in the recital.

I suggest to anyone who is interested to try a similar challenge with any one piece you like - try to get something ready in a month and perform it, even if it is just in front of your peers or just for a recording. It's amazing how fast we are able to adapt to pianistic challenges once there is a set timeframe.
