One of the longest running named Eurocity trains in Europe is the Swiss/Austrian Transalpin, which today operates as trains EC163/164 between Zurich, Switzerland and Graz, Austria. It is also the last named EC operating between the two countries, as well as the last connection comprised of locomotive hauled coaches instead of the OBB Railjet.
With rumors that this train may soon change equipment, I took the opportunity to document EC163 on a Sunday morning in September 2015 during its arrival and locomotive change at the Buchs SG border station.
