THE SACRED PARASHAR LAKE || HIMACHAL'S FLOATING MIRACLE

After traveling through the heart of Himachal Pradesh, we reached the serene and mystical Parashar Lake, a high-altitude Himalayan lake nestled above the Mandi district.

Surrounded by rolling meadows, dense forests, and snow-covered peaks of the Dhauladhar range, Parashar Lake sits at an altitude of around 2,700 meters. The lake is best known for its floating island, a natural phenomenon that slowly changes its position, adding to the mystery of this sacred place.

Beside the lake stands the ancient Parashar Rishi Temple, believed to be centuries old, reflecting the deep spiritual and cultural roots of the region. Accessible via scenic mountain roads and short treks, Parashar offers a peaceful escape away from crowded tourist destinations.

During our visit, we witnessed shifting clouds, cold mountain winds, and moments of complete silence—making it a perfect destination for camping, slow travel, and cinematic storytelling.
