Horses living in herds

At HH, we have our herds separated largely by activity level.
The upper herd, we lovingly call "the jerk herd". They are rambunctious and sassy. They tend to run hard and play hard. They're typically our "bigger" personalities who are likely to intimidate and/or push over quieter horses. They range in age from 3-21 years old, 13 hands-18 hands.
Our lower herd is the "nice" herd. Horses typically start in the lower herd unless we have reason to immediately place them in the upper herd. The lower herd certainly still moves, plays, etc but with a much lower energy intensity and frequency. The lower herd is typically much more interested in moseying than galloping around. They range in age from 7-30 years old, 14 hands-17 hands.
Both our herds are mixed herds. Both have approximately 6 acres where we have resources spread out as much as we can to stimulate movement until our interior track fencing goes up, hopefully later this year 🤞
