In this video, I walk you through the issues I encountered with this heavy-duty industrial sewing machine. While I don’t go into detail about the repairs, I’m happy to answer any questions in the comments!

The Yamata 810 is an industrial sewing machine built for heavy-duty applications, making it a popular choice for working with thick materials like canvas, leather, and denim. Known for its speed and reliability, this machine is often used in upholstery, bag-making, and other demanding sewing tasks where precision and power are essential.
This model features a compound feed mechanism that ensures even stitching across multiple layers of fabric and a clutch motor that delivers high-speed operation. However, as with any industrial equipment, proper maintenance is critical to keep it running smoothly. Neglect and heavy use can lead to issues like timing misalignment, tension problems, and worn-out components.
In this video, I document the challenges I faced with a secondhand Yamata 810 that had clearly seen better days. From slipping gears to feed dog malfunctions, the machine revealed a long list of problems that needed addressing. While this video focuses on the issues rather than the repairs, it offers an honest look at what can happen when industrial machines are pushed to their limits without proper care."
The Yamata FY810 is a heavy-duty, single-needle, post-bed industrial sewing machine designed for sewing light to heavy-weight materials such as leather, vinyl, upholstery, synthetics, canvas, and various coated and laminated products.
