Doce Pares is the oldest and largest Filipino Martial Art (FMA) system and organization in the world. It is considered as the most complete and well-rounded fighting system as it covers all ranges of fighting and 12 different styles of combat.
In this movie, Marcel van Dongen head representative of Doce Pares Netherlands will show how to translate a technique with a the stick to knife or a pocketstick / kobutan.
When it comes to fighting with weapons, it's hard to beat the Filipino martial arts. It's the collective name for eskrima (kali, arnis), pangamot (panantukan, dirtyboxing) and knife fighting. It is a beautiful sport that contains everything. You learn to fight at different distances. Both with and without weapons. Like a long-distance stick, with a knife or pocketstick if you come closer, the next step is to continue unarmed, and then also on the ground. The possibilities are endless. The idea behind this is that you should always be able to defend yourself against every opponent.
Marcel van Dongen gives seminars at home and abroad to promote Filipino Martial Arts and especially the Doce Pares Eskrima.
