This driving video of Winslow, Arizona shows a small town on historic Route 66. Winslow achieved national fame in 1972 in the song “Take It Easy” by The Eagles which has the line “standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona." The drive passes this corner and a large Route 66 sigh on the road along the way thru the town center.

First Winslow was a railroad hub and the most important city in northern Arizona. After train travel declined after World War II, the town became an important stop along Route 66.

U.S. Route 66 was originally routed through the city. A contract to build Interstate 40 as a bypass north of Winslow was awarded at the end of 1977. I-40 replaced U.S. Route 66 in Arizona in its entirety.
