1: keep your tongue forward. The trick I use is to keep the tip of my tongue touching the inside of my bottom teeth. Not because French people do it, but rather because we English speakers need some kind of trick to help us avoid pulling the tongue back for the R. Until you've lived in France for a few years and feel yourself still pulling your tongue back for the R, it is hard to understand how strong this reflex is. Touching the tip of your tongue to the inside of your bottom teeth helps fight the English-speaker's tendancy to pull the tongue back for the letter R.
2. Narrow the gap between the tongue and the roof of the mouth.
3. Try pushing the tongue forward a bit for the R sounds. Careful with this one: it helps me, but it may not help you. Just try it and see what happens.
