How did Azeroth's Night Elves Come to Be? | The Path to Amirdrassil

In the latest World of Warcraft expansion, Dragonflight, the saga of the Night Elves that has been continuing on for the last few years finally comes to a conclusion. While they've suffered many losses - their people, and their former home, the world tree Teldrassil - they now have a seed of hope, which is readily growing into the form of a new world tree - Amirdrassil.

But how did we even get here? How did the Night Elves come to be on Azeroth? Why are they in need of a new world tree in the first place?

In the first of this two-part series, we'll catch up on kaldorei lore, from their beginnings all the way up to the present day, and learn a little more about the trials they've faced - as well as how their actions have shaped the very form of the world as we know it.
