This is an inexpensive and relatively easy method of converting a trolling motor to tiller arm steering. This design allows steering in both the seated and standing positions. The parts I used are listed below (approximate cost $20):
1 1/8 inch interior (inside bore) diameter aluminum 2 piece clamping collar with tightening bolts
1/4 diameter aluminum rod (all thread may also be used)
1/4-20 thread acorn nut
1/4-20 thread coupling nut (standard nut may also be used)
Trolling motor extension handle (or similar item)
