Rethinking Accountancy is part of the Rethinking Economics International Network. We are a group of students, academics, community-based individuals, and professionals campaigning for the transformation of the accountancy education and profession.
We believe that the current accountancy education system is narrow, culturally uniform and insufficiently responsive to the ethical challenges of the profession. This perpetuates the social, economic, and environmental injustice that we witness daily.
We are calling for socioeconomic and environmentally responsive pedagogies and epistemologies in accountancy and finance education that will give rise to critical professionals that address the world’s current and future challenges of socioeconomic inequality and climate injustice and foster sustainable futures.
