Prime Minister Narendra Modi traveled to war ravaged Jaffna region in the north. PM Modi laid the foundation stone of a cultural center there and said that Jaffna is sending the message of Peace to the World. Modi has become the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the war ravaged area of Jaffna. The region was worst affected in Sri Lanka's civil war spanning over three decades.
