There are numerous small towns all along the coast of the Carolinas that are worth a visit. Elizabeth City, North Carolina certainly fits within that category.
I spent a couple of days there in the fall of 2022. You'll see that the waterfront is phenomenal. I also made a stop at the Museum of the Albemarle and took a walk along the Fenwick-Hollowell Wetland Trail.
