Santa Cruz V10.8 DH Pro Bike Check | Jackson Goldstone

Jackson Goldstone is heading into his first season in the Elite ranks of Downhill after an electric couple of years battling it out in the Juniors and laying down times which would have him frequenting the Elite Top 10. With a new Santa Cruz V10 under him and the support of the Syndicate at his back, Jackson has already been claiming victories at races with stacked start lists across New Zealand and Australia all summer. Neil caught up with him at the Lourdes ‪@uci_mtbworldseries‬ Test event to find out about the new bike!

Rider Info: Having just moved up to Elites from the Junior ranks, Jackson has a fairly light frame and stands at roughly 5'10" tall, opting for a medium-sized frame. Mechanics state he used to be harsh on bike parts but has improved loads, smoothing his riding style.

Finishing touches: Jackson runs the adjustable headset cups in the middle setting, giving a reach of 452mm. A small fender sits between the seat-stays to protect the shock from mud off of the rear wheel. Some stock-looking chain damping will help with noise and paintwork on the drive side chainstay and some sticky-backed velcro on the brake caliper helps to quieten any pad rattle that may happen. They may also help with mud collection around the pad springs on particularly horrible days, but the jury is out on that one!
