Bathed by the waters of the Mediterranean and sheltered by monte de les Raboses, Cullera offers visitors an exceptional environment and a privileged climate. It’s a lovely town of 21,000 inhabitants located just 40km south of Valencia. The first thing that takes your attention when reaching the town is undoubtedly its fantastic castle towering over the city - a beautiful military architectural ensemble of Muslim origin located at the top of montaña de los zorros, controlling the entire valley and the Bay.
Cullera has a privileged coast as it offers 15km of magnificent beaches of all kinds. Nor far, the Parque Natural de la Albufera is one of the most important wetlands of the Iberian Peninsula, where its rich waters are an area of great ecological wealth and where thousands of species of birds inhabit.
We spend a few weeks in this region eating mandarines, enjoying the sea, having good times at the beaches and also doing beautiful walks (for example at the Montana La Cruz). Traveling here in October and during Covid-times makes our journey quite.
A lot of the land was covered by citrus trees (and therefore kept under fabrics) and a lot of fields were burnt for recovery, so from the sky, the view wasn’t really fancy and some days, the air wasn’t fresh at all. But still happy to have discovered this Spanish area!
