This is a video in my new Core Concepts series -- designed to provide students and lifelong learners a brief discussion focused on one main concept from a classic philosophical text and thinker.

This video focuses on Plato's work, The Meno and examines the various discussions Socrates engages in bearing on things that people typically think are good, their desires for these, and what is needed in order for those things to be genuinely good for that person. Although we do not arrive at knowledge of what virtue is in the dialogue, we do acquire some important knowledge along the way, namely about the importance of the virtues of temperance, justice, and in particular wisdom
