TCM Originals does a great job in sharing the special quality that made Gary Cooper so appealing to multiple generations of movie lovers.
He started in the silent era, and made the transition to talkies and then rose to superstardom wining multiple Oscars in his long career (wining the Oscar for best actor for Sargent York 1942, High Noon 1953, and an Honorary Oscar in 1961).
His decision to only do westerns as he finished his career revealed his passion for portraying the good guy. One of my favorite actors of all time.
Wings (Silent 1927), City Streets, John Doe, Mr. Deeds goes to Town, Ball of Fire, Pride of the Yankees, Along came Jones, The Westerner, Vera Cruz to name of few of his best movies across numerous genres of film.
