Built for and delivered via Aston Martin agents H W Motors, to its first Kent based owner, this 4 owner example of the V8 Vantage Volante has been expertly maintained by its previous owners, using the combined services of HWM, Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell and with renowned Aston Martin specialists in south east London.

Remaining in its original colour specifications, upgrades carried out by the third long term owner, of some 28 years, have included the ‘X-pack’ specification engine being removed, dismantled and rebuilt to 5.7 litre specifications, the fitment of a sports exhaust and suspension upgrades, including the fitment of revised road springs, dampers and anti–roll bars, all improving road holding, handling and ride quality, along with a factory specification AP braking upgrade. Inside, the cabins ambience has been improved with the fitment of a desirable Nardi wood rimmed steering wheel.

Currently displaying 27,000 miles, its is clearly noted in the comprehensive service history documentation that the original speedometer was replaced by Aston Martin in 1994 at 18,500 miles, the total mileage is therefore 45,500 miles, as confirmed by service and maintenance invoices, as well as MoT certification on file.

However and notably, this rare car has covered just over 3,000 miles, since the ‘X- pack’ engine was upgraded during its rebuild and re-installed, with a new balanced clutch assembly and the engine cooling systems overhauled, at 42,134 miles in May 2014.

In production from 1986 to ’89, only 102 Vantage Volante’s were manufactured in Right Hand drive, of which just 79 examples were equipped with the coveted 5 speed manual transmission, this car being 1 of the 79 manual gearbox examples built.

A resounding success when launched in 1986 the Vantage Volante’s, roll call of famous owners from the world of entertainment included Sir Elton John and Roger Taylor, drummer and percussionist of the Rock legends, Queen. Most famously though and in a unique specification, HRH The Prince of Wales, now King Charles III, was often spotted in his own unique Green coloured and personalised Vantage Volante, at various high profile Polo tournaments.

With armchair comfort and prodigious performance on offer and in being equipped, with air conditioning and a power operated roof, the Vantage Volante, when announced, was the fastest 4 seat production convertible available to the public in period, with a top speed in excess of 160 mph and acceleration to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, all available whilst being cosseted within the luxurious hand crafted interior, the model is renowned for.
