Short Teaching from Isaiah 61:1–4 for the New Year
Isaiah 61:1–4 reminds us that the new year begins with God’s Spirit and favor. God promises fresh strength, healing for the brokenhearted, and freedom from past burdens. What caused pain last year will not define this year, because God gives beauty for ashes and joy instead of mourning.
This passage also teaches us that the new year is a time for restoration and rebuilding. God turns ruins into testimonies and makes us strong like oaks, rooted in faith and righteousness.
New Year Expectation: Healing, joy, restoration, and renewed purpose.
Isaiah 66:1–4
Isaiah 66:1–4 teaches that God is sovereign—heaven is His throne and earth His footstool. He is not impressed by outward religion or grand appearances. What truly matters to God is a humble heart, repentance, and obedience to His word.
God honors those who are poor in spirit and tremble at His word, but He rejects hypocrisy—where people act religious yet live in disobedience.
Key Lesson: As we move forward, God looks at the heart, not rituals.
Expectation: Walk humbly, obey God sincerely, and choose righteousness—this attracts God’s favor and presence.
