Dr Gunasinghe's research focuses on elucidating the spatial-temporal organization of cell membrane proteins and receptors, with particular emphasis on their role in critical cellular functions. Utilizing advanced fluorescence microscopy techniques, especially Super Resolution Nanoscopy, his work has made significant contributions to both bacteriology and T cell biology. This approach provides unprecedented insights into the early stages of T cell responses to foreign antigens and the subsequent decision-making processes that shape immune responses.
