ActBroward, a 501 organization that facilitates actor & filmmaker growth, presents Meisner's "Door & Activity" exercise.
These are not scenes in the proper sense, nor are they portraying proper characters, nor is there any dialogue other than observations made by the actors. These observations can be of their partner or even themselves.
This is an exercise in observation & listening.
One actor is given a task, to occupy them. A sort of 'red herring' to lure them away from their partner.
The pair of actors decide on a relationship between them. Each decided on a motive for their actions: Why am I knocking on their door? 'Why am I stacking these blocks?'
