Narrowboat Kildare is one of the national historic fleet, owned by the Black Country Living Museum, and operated by the Friends of President.
She is a 71 and a half foot long Fellows Morton and Clayton butty (unpowered) boat, built in 1913. Nowadays she is usually paired with Narrowboat President, a 1909 steam powered boat.
She was moved to Braunston marina in April 2023 to use the wet dock there for some work on the front cabin, before being part of the parade of historic boats at the Braunston boat rally on the 24th and 25th of June.
This is the story of that trip.
Narrowboat President was unavailable for towing as she requires a new boiler at the moment. You can join the crew or help out, details are on the website:

Many thanks go to Malcolm Burge and Polly on Narrowboat Stafford for providing the tow. South Midland Water Transport Ltd
