A Denver band that found their way to Hollywood, The Rainy Daze are mostly known today (if at all) for "That Acupulco Gold" which threatened to become a hit song before being sunk by the Gavin Report over the lyric's alleged drug references. Tim Gilbert and John Carter of the Daze also contributed lyrics to labelmates The Strawberry Alarm Clock's "Incense & Peppermints", which hit #1 nationally in '67.
