I shot this sample footage using the vintage Helios-40-2 85mm f1.5 lens. I recorded it on a Z CAM E2F6, a full-frame 35mm cinema camera, in 4K resolution using the H.265 codec in Z-log2.
In post-production, I used Davinci Resolve to convert the footage to Rec709 with the Zlogcolor plug-in. I made basic adjustments to the exposure—bringing well-lit skin tones to about 60 IRE and shadowed skin tones to around 40 IRE. I also balanced the colors to make everything look natural and true to life.
