Rarest Suburban EVER? QuadraSteer: The Best Option You Never Knew You Needed!

In this video, the second in our new series on “Overlanding” (car camping), we are showcasing an ultra-rare QuadraSteer Suburban! Quadrasteer, GM's extremely well-engineered and well-thought-out 4-wheel-steering system, came equipped on only a handful of Suburbans that account for less than 0.5% of production in 2003, and less than 0.06% of all Suburbans EVER! This amazing feature makes this truck rarer than a Shelby Mustang (both by percentage of production, as well as by raw production numbers!), and makes this full size "land yacht" handle and maneuver like a Honda Civic

Quadrasteer Suburban facts:
-Only 1,228 were EVER built (plus 1,085 Yukon XLs, for a total of 2,313 SUVs).
-Only 594 were built in 2003.
-QuadraSteer reduces the turning circle from 44.3' to 35' (roughly a 20% reduction, making it turn as tightly as a Honda Civic).
-All Quadrasteer Suburbans were equipped with the 6.0L gas engine, AutoRide variable dampening suspension, rear liftgates (instead of "barn doors), and limited slip differentials.
-QuadraSteer axles are based on the venerable Dana 60, so many parts are compatible with standard Dana 60 pieces.
-A cottage industry has sprung up around QuadraSteer, and parts availability is excellent; nearly as good today as it was when they were new.
-QuadraSteer is an extremely well-engineered, well-thought-out, and durable system. It is one of the most reliable systems on the already legendarily reliable GMT-800 platform. Most QuadraSteer systems far outlast the vehicles they are installed in.
