Stand by Me - Ben E. King スタンドバイミー（Piano Cover) with YAMAHA YUS5

“Stand by Me” is a classic soul/R&B song released in 1961, whose lyrics and melody were written by Ben E. King, and Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller worked together. The song was inspired by a gospel hymn of the same name written by Charles Albert Tindley in 1905, and the biblical phrase “Stand by me.” It’s about love, loyalty, and emotional support — a promise to stand by someone no matter what happens.

I first heard this song when I was young in Japan because of the same-named movie in 1986.✨
This beautiful arrangement version was made by Ryandi Kusuma, who is one of my favorite arrangers and pianists.

Personally, something sad happened recently, and it was hard to bring myself to play this song. But since I'd already practiced it, I couldn't switch to another song and ended up playing it while holding back tears. The part of the lyrics, "I won't cry, I won't cry, no, I won't shed a tear," actually made me want to cry even more. This performance is filled with my endless gratitude.
