This song chronicles the relationship of the same woman as "Elves of Deep Shadow" as a whole. It is the most emotion driven song I've ever written and is also the only song I've written to bring tears to my eyes. I wrote this a few months after our final breakup, and I didn't intend for it to be about us. While I was writing the first part to the song (the very ending of the song in actuality) is when my brain decided to fully begin processing the heartbreak. So then this song became about us and our time together. Writing this helped me begin healing from having my heart broken a second time.
