Ravi Raj, from Bihar, has been blind since birth, but he always dreamed of becoming an IAS officer. His mother, Vibha Sinha, took the responsibility of teaching him along with doing household chores.

She would play YouTube lessons and read UPSC books and newspapers aloud to help him understand everything easily.

For the UPSC exam, Ravi Raj got a writer who wrote his answers as he spoke to them.

After four attempts, he finally cleared the exam and became an IAS officer. Since he is blind, he won’t be posted for fieldwork but will work in the office using a computer with screen reader software.
