Aisatsana 102- Acoustic Guitar with birdsong [APHEX TWIN]

When I heard how the birds sounded at 6 am in this old New England house, I had to record this piece.

"Aisatsana [102]" (composer Richard James's wife's name spelled backwards plus the piece's metronome marking) from the 2014 Aphex Twin album "Syro" is a meditative two-chord oscillation on a detuned piano resting on a cloud of bird song. It's characterized by a recurring two-bar figure where the first bar presents, develops and overlaps a handful of simple motifs while the second bar sustains the wash of resulting notes. On piano, holding these notes is easy - on guitar, it requires unusual fingerings, off-the-fretboard artificial harmonics, tuning to drop C, and very delicate maneuvering not to mute adjacent strings.

The original live performance was on a player piano placed on a gigantic swinging pendulum. But I consider that optional for the guitar version...
