In which, I become a temporary Cast-Away 😆. It was my first chance to set foot upon the primitive Cayo Costa Island that borders the Gulf of Mexico.
Here, I give a little history lesson of the island. As it turns out, the island was a popular fishing settlement for the Spaniards back in the 1800's. People established a school, post office, and some homes on the island. The only way you can access this island is by boat. Heck, you can't even get here from a kayak as it is very secluded.
As I said, it reminded me so much of Isla de Zapatilla in Panama nearly two years ago 🤙🏼
