Barbara Stanwyck, if in the 1930s, had imposed herself on the big screen, with intimistic films as "Ladies of Leisure" "The Miracle Woman" "Forbidden" "Stella Dallas", in the 1940s as gorgeous actress of American comedy in "Ball of Fire" "The Lady Eve" "Lady of Burlesque" and subsequently great dark lady in "Double Indemnity" "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers", is in the 1950s showing all her passion in the Western films.
The Furies with Walter Huston, The Moonlighter with Fred MacMurray, Cattle Queen of Montana with Ronald Reagan, The Violent Men with Edward G. Robinson and Glenn Ford, The Maverick Queen with Barry Sullivan and especially Forty Guns directed by Samuel Fuller.
In Forty GUns is not used any stunt while Stanwyck is dragged to the ground by her horse.
In the 1960s will be TV to give success to this great actress, with the hit Western series The Big Valley set in California of 1870.
