Small Bike BIG Adventure on my 2024 2025 Honda CB125R and real-world top speed and MPG

Recently, despite accessorising my 2024 Honda CB125R with a windscreen, fender extenders, and various corrosion protection products I still get anxious about taking it out in anything other than perfect weather. It dawned on me that syncing a free day with good weather was proving a bit difficult and I wondered 'weather' I would ever get to ride my bike apart from in the height of summer.

Anyhow, on Sunday I had a free day, the route was planned and the forecast was looking good until I woke up and looked out of the window. Overnight rain had left damp roads and my planned route was showing possible drizzle and light rain. The feeling inside was a little disappointing.

So I decided to grow some and get myself out regardless of the potential weather and hope the accessories and the corrosion protection did the job.

I was so pleased I did, the route I took was Newcastle - Consett - Stanhope - Alston - Penrith - Pooley Bridge - Ambleside via Kirkstone Pass and then back home via Alston and the A69 for quickness, as it was starting to get cold.

I broke my route up into sections thinking if I was getting cold I could head home at the end of a section, but all I found myself doing was wanting to go further, and boy I enjoyed it. 198 miles in total, a very dirty bike, and a big smile.

I also chatted about real-time top speed and MPG you can expect to get out of the 2024 Honda CB125R, this adventure helped me work this out as it's the longest ride I've done to date.

Oh, the bike looked as good as new after a wash and detail.
