A Queensland supreme court justice has found 14 members of a Toowoomba religious sect known as the Saints guilty of manslaughter of eight-year-old Elizabeth Struhs, by denying her the insulin she needed to treat her type 1 diabetes.

Elizabeth's father, Jason, and the leader of the Saints, Brendan Stevens, were found not guilty of murder.
Elizabeth died at her family home in Rangeville, Toowoomba, west of Brisbane, on 6 or 7 January 2022, allegedly of diabetic ketoacidosis. The Saints members on trial refused to participate in many elements of the trial, by refusing counsel and not entering pleas. They argued the prosecution was a form of religious persecution
