The phrase لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ (La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah) is a very powerful dhikr (remembrance of Allah) mentioned in many hadith. Its meaning is:

A Treasure from Paradise

“Shall I not guide you to a word which is one of the treasures of Paradise? It is: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.”

Protection from Worry and Sadness
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When a man says: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah, Allah says: My slave has submitted and surrendered.”
— (Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 22923, Hasan)
Best Words After Qur’an
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Increase in saying: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah, for it is from the treasures of Paradise.”
— (Musnad Ahmad 963, graded Hasan by Al-Albani)
Relief in Hardship
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever says La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah, it will be a cure from ninety-nine illnesses, the least of which is worry.”
— (Tabarani, al-Mu‘jam al-Kabeer; authenticated by Al-Albani in Silsilah al-Saheehah 1528)
In Daily Prayers
Ibn Mas‘ud (RA) narrated:
When the Prophet ﷺ heard the Mu’adhdhin (caller to prayer) say ‘Hayya ‘ala-s-Salah’ (come to prayer), he said: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
— (Bukhari, Hadith 613; Muslim, Hadith 385)
