Hey, how’s it going fellow guitar slingers, Dave here and welcome to my channel!

In this video I’m gonna be showing you some really cool sounding blues licks that I like to use a lot when I’m improvising, that you can take, add to your own bag of tricks, modify, however you want to use them. So let’s do it.

So all of these licks are played over a Chicago blues style shuffle In the key of A and use a mixture of the minor pentatonic and major pentatonic scales. If you’re not familiar with these scales and how to play them all over the neck, don’t worry I have a free training series that covers both these scales as well as the basic fundamentals of music theory for guitar players, so if you want to check that out I’ll leave a link down in the description.

I encourage you to learn all the licks, get comfortable with them, but also modify them, mess around and come up with some of your own licks. I believe the most important thing you can do as a guitar player is to find your own voice on the instrument.

Although they're an accumulation of my personal influences, they are very much In the style of myself and how I naturally play, so they may not all work for you and that’s totally fine.

So I want to encourage you to use these licks as examples and templates to create new ones. Take them and use them as they are by all means. But just keep that In mind when you’re practicing them.
