Ian Holm may have played Bilbo Baggins in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, but when director Peter Jackson announced he was filming "The Hobbit," he wanted a new actor to take the lead. Enter Martin Freeman, who was more than pleased to accept the challenge and take over the role.
Tribute.ca spoke with Martin in New York about the pressures of playing such a beloved character and having the opportunity to work with Peter Jackson, who knows the Tolkien world better than anyone he knows.
