“Iwe Ekpang” is a popular delicacy, eaten by the people of Oron in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
It takes about 10-12 hours to prepare this meal, so it typically requires a lot of hands to get it ready.
This is why this meal is made only on special occasions.
“Iwe Ekpang” is made from grated cassava and wrapped in boiled plantain leaves.
Cook time is 2 hours on medium heat.
The best medium to cook with is FIREWOOD.
The sauce used to eat it (otong) is made in a similar manner to okro soup.
Although “Iwe Ekpang” requires a lot of time and energy to prepare, it is a meal made with love and a good way to bond with family.
