An early morning, icy COLD late fall/early winter run through Duluth's scenic Chester Park and Chester Bowl. Join me to peep at some ice-laden waterfalls (before they're completely frozen) and take in Duluth's right-in-town ski hill. If you've never been through Chester Park, you'll have a hard time believing you're less than two miles from Canal Park -- instead of 50 miles up the North Shore.

I had the good sense to wear my shoes with built-in carbide spikes, so [spoiler alert] I didn't fall down in this one. Sorry everyone; I'll try to do worse next time.

In 2014, Outside Magazine bestowed the honor of "Best Town in America" upon Duluth, beating out 64 other cities. From the extensive trail systems for trail running/hiking and biking to the pristine waters of Lake Superior for paddling and just darn good scenery, Duluth's diverse landscape and commitment to outdoor recreation truly set it apart.
